RajuTumung, 30 , is a person with Locomotor Disability. He was afflicted with Polio of both the Lower Limbs. He lives in a remote village called Kiling, DhupguriGram Panchayat, Dimoria Block, Kamrup District, Assam. When Swabalambi identified him in 1998, he was neglected by his family and left alone only with food. After assessment by Ortho Doctors in a Medical Camp at their village , the doctors advised Tricycle as no corrective surgery can do much on his wasting lower limbs. Due to his mobility with Upper Limbs he had very strong arms. Swabalambi trained him in their Vocational training program in Bamboo work. He was also trained formally in SIRD and received a Certificate. Raju had also been trained in the series of Design Workshops of Bamboo,Jute and cane at Swabalambi by the Ministry of Textiles  from 2006 to 2013 . He became a Master trainer. He won Gold 03 times in the Zonal and National Abilympics. In the International Abilympics 2007, Raju won the Silver Medal at Delhi. When Raju started earning from his small enterprise, a young lady from another village proposed to him and they got married. Raju is a father of 02 sons and he has an increased income and takes orders for Bamboo furniture from Resorts and homes. He also takes contracts for Bamboo construction of Broiler Farms and Bomboo Piggery in other villages too.  The people of his village now have a very positive attitude towards Raju.
